Quick Getaways: Amsterdam

    I arrived in Amsterdam, after the shortest flight I have ever had the pleasure of being on. Adjusting my eyes to the new sights and sounds of this wonderful place, I journeyed to my home for the next two days. Amsterdam is a pretty interesting place; with a buzzing city centre that is fortunately not so busy that you cannot breathe. A place that surrounds the canal and thinly designed buildings that make you want to pop in and discover if they are bigger on the inside than they are outside. It is probably best you hire a bike, since that is the main method of transport and if you are short like me, settle for a “small person’s bike” which looks a lot like a child’s bike. Everyone is at least 6ft over there! Next morning, we hired bikes and set off in search of breakfast, the only requirement being coffee and eggs.
